HEALTH & SAFETY
At SAFEDECK, we strongly believe safety in the workplace is paramount. We are here to help protect people who are working at height from internal falls on both residential and commercial new build projects.
SAFEDECK exceeds current safety regulations, set out by the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) by creating a working platform to prevent falls. Its' non-slip surface means workers using SAFE DECK can be confident of their footing when working at height.
It is the responsibility of the employer & principal contractor, to protect all staff and sub-contractors. The introduction of HSE’s self-funded Fee of Intervention scheme means falls from height are top of the agenda. Between 2013 and 2018, 26% of fatal injuries in the workplace were a consequence of falls from a height with just under half of all these in the construction sector.
HSE recommends the following guidance under their Work at Height Regulations (WAHR) (2005)
Falls from height are one of the biggest causes of workplace fatalities and major injuries. The purpose of WAHR is to prevent death and injury from a fall from height.

Before working at height you must work through these simple steps:
-
Avoid work at height where it is reasonably practicable to do so;
-
Where work at height cannot be avoided, prevent falls using either an existing place of work that is already safe or the right type of equipment;
-
Minimise the distance and consequences of a fall, by using the right type of equipment where the risk cannot be eliminated.
How does SDA comply with these Regulations?
Employers and those in control of any work at height activity must ensure work is properly planned, supervised and carried out by competent people. This includes using the right type of equipment for working at height.
